Lennie Smith

Lennie Smith was an actor and swing dancer who performed in many movies of the 40’s and 50’s. Often dancing with Jean Veloz in a sailor suit. The photo inserted here is from the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame Program, 1991, the year Lennie was inducted into the Stellar Category. He is pictured with Inductee Freida Wyckoff from the movie,”Death in Doses.” Lennie was featured in many movies as an actor and a dancer during the 50’s and some from the 40’s. His 1991 CSDHOF Program Bio states he also danced in “Living It Up” with Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin. “Buck Privates” with Abbott and Costello, “Carnival Rock” with Jack Jones, “Calypso Heat Wave.” He won a number of contests around Southern California in the 40’s and 50’s. He also gained many television credits, including the Red Skelton show.
